The Newest Follie in Town: the Paradise Follie
On November 15th, from the head of SATORI CIRCUS and his talented co-conspiring comrades, Mr. Marcus Concernicus and Ms. Lushes LaMoan, they present to you a first for Detroit – the Paradise Follies.
Paradise Follies is a new age rendition of entertainment from the golden days with a dirty, naughty, sexy and dangerous twist. Taking you to the edge, without getting arrested and paying homage partly in name to Detroit’s Paradise Valley.
In the day, it was the mecca for Black entertainment within the Black Bottom District. Having 17 different nightclubs, and tons of other black owned businesses.
Because of what Paradise Valley stood for, the Paradise Follie will surely delight. It will make you hoot and holler; make you go blind; make you quake in your shoes; make you have dirty thoughts and leave you drenched!
There will be live music coming from the funk/rock band Lucy’s Brown Seville and the beautiful voice or singer/songwriter Ms. Emily Rose. Burlesque performances from the awe-inspiring talents of LouLou Roxy, Kitty Paige, Lottie Ellington and Detroit’s hardest working showgirl, Ms. Lushes LaMoan. You’ll see the glowing beauty of one of Detroit’s chameleon drag performers, Ms. Bentley James, and feel the breeze from Flint, Michigan’s flying femme fatale, Tommy Gun. Then, just to keep the pot stirred, Pechuga Chula will throw more curves at you then I-75, leaving you dripping and wanting more. And SATORI CIRCUS, well, more or less, will be naked!
